"...and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

Okay so I was listening to Francis Chan today. He had some cool things to say... But these things were also tough. He mentioned reading Acts. So I started reading Acts again.

You know what the first thing that hit me was??? Different... That these guys in the church of Acts were different. I mean they were radical and yet ridiculously compassionate. Here I'll just let you read.

"They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with Awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people..."       ACTS 2:42-47 NIV

WAIT... if I saw this today I would think... Different... Some people might think, "weird?" or "creepy?!?" or "socialist?!" What do you think? Does this scripture have any bearing on how we should live now? Or is it just a weird cultural moment in time where this made sense? What are the ramifications if we were to take this literally? Should I take this literally? I want to hear your take...                that means comment !!!
