Hebrews 12: 7-8, 11
"Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline) then you are illegitimate children and not true sons." "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."
It is not easy being a follower of Christ. It is not easy being a leader in Christ's body, but God has called us to do our part. If God chooses to refine us then we must be willing to take the flame. This is what we have signed up for. But I am encouraged, especially through the whole 12th chapter of Hebrews. Because God is a consuming fire and it helps me to remember my place in the Kingdom. And our place as sons and daughters.
